Remembering an Artist, Musician, Husband and Friend.

He was extremely creative. He could sing bass like nobody’s business. He was gentle, selfless and without guile. He loved art in all its forms. He dug computers. And, we met 20 years ago this month.

His name was Stephen Haines and he passed away tonight, the result of an illness he’s battled for too long.

There’s simply no way to say just how much we’ll miss him. You can’t put a quantity on relationships like that. I can think of no better way to describe our friendship than to say that I loved him like a brother.

Our lives have been made so much better for knowing Steve, and I’m sad beyond belief. Yet in my grief, I’m glad he’s gone home, his toils ended.

There’s so much more I can say about him. But not tonight.

…Tonight I’ll remember.

Todd, I am so sorry for yours, Lisa’s and of course Mary Ann and their families over Steve’s passing.

Please let us know where we can send flowers.

    Love, Mom

Words cannot express how sorry I am about Steve’s passing. I am Todd’s sister and I had met Steve and Mary Ann several times. They were both always very sweet and gracious as well as fun. This is one of those times that I wonder why. I know that even if God asnwered me, I probably still wouldn’t understand and I would still feel the pain for Steve’s wife that he left behind as well as my brother and his wife and all of their friends. It’s true what Paul the Apostle said, that we don’t grieve for them, they went home and there is no more pain or suffering. We grieve for ourselves and our loss as well as the family’s loss.
I pray that over time, the pain will lessen some. They will all still miss Steve, but I hope that when they remember him, it will be with a smile and a peace that they will see him again someday.

    LeeAnn
